Gyrotonic® Method

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is an exercise modality that guides users to simultaneously stretch and strengthen muscles and tendons while also articulating and mobilizing the joints. Corresponding breathing patterns are engaged during the performance of the exercises, thereby increasing coordination, endurance and aerobic activity.

The Pulley Tower

Juliu Horvath discovered the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® principles that form the foundation for this novel approach to maintaining health and well-being after many years of study, as he not only tried and succeeded in repairing the bodily injuries that he sustained as a professional dancer using these new methodologies, but he also sought to create a system of exercises that anyone could perform, regardless of age or state of health.

Stefanie completed the rigorous training to become certified as a trainer in Miami in 2006 (with master trainers Leda Franklin & Lisa Marie Goodwin) after study with movement therapist mentor Megan Reisel and master trainer Tim McMinn. In 2016, Stefanie received certification for using the GYROTONER®, a specialized piece of equipment, after study with master trainer Leslie Davenport. In 2017, she was certified on the Gyrotonic Leg Extension Unit® specialized equipment by master trainer Cori Doetzer.

Stefanie currently books private single and duet GYROTONIC® sessions at Bella Grazia Studio in West Stockbridge, MA, Wise Body Works Studio in Great Barrington, MA and at Canyon Ranch Resort and Spa in Lenox, MA.  Stefanie keeps her exploration and updates in the technique fresh with continued study and practice.
