The Cosmic Bop: Jazz Tap Workshop By Stefanie Weber
Accompanied by jazz musicians Adriana Tampa’s (flute) and Justin Geyer (keys), this workshop will be both basic instruction of tap technique and also a deeper experiential dive into the universe of cosmic jazz and meditational movement. Combining musical influences such as Alice Coltrance and Sun Ra, with the influence of Tap dancers, such as Eddie Brown and Heather Cornell, this workshop will be both a centering flow as well as a joyful stomp through the possibilities of individual and collective expression (with metal on the soles of your shoes)!
We will breathe deeply, look closely, strike when it feels right, learn about the groundedness of rhythm, and experience the potential for liberation while focused in listening.
This workshop is for all ages, skill levels, and interests. All bodies are welcome.
