MOTHERLESSSHIP is a series of performance sketches and physical poems that seek to merge the frayed edges of personal and global realms into one embracing impression
The study and exploration for this performance piece began in 2018 after my mother transitioned from this plane (in my presence) after an 18-month medical-nightmare-voyage with pancreatic cancer. During that time I was her primary caregiver and was launched into that kind of unrelenting love that is mothering. The role of MOTHER has haunted me most of my life, like many women (and others). And now the role of MOTHERLESS awakens and prevails. This piece is part of making sense of this new space I inhabit as MOTHERLESS on a MOTHERLESSSHIP such as The United States of America. What is the realm of the MOTHERLESS? This stirs many beings to awaken and come to the surface. This work is a place for bringing these beings into light.
